Social Networking has many uses in both corporate and private world. For corporations, social network technologies are used to gather data on people because of the abundance of information people usually post on the web. Most companies use social networks such as LinkedIn, Facebook, and more to figure out whether a person they are hiring is best fit for the company. They can see whether a person's past job experience and even their hobbies. There are many recruiters from large companies who use sites such as LinkedIn to hire potential employees.While corporations use social networks to hire people, on the flip side, we can use the technology to find companies that are hiring. 

In general, social networking has many benefits to society. People can share information quickly and efficiently through a press of a button. People can also communicate globally without having to pay any fees. Information on others is also easily obtained which has both negative and positive effects.

On the other hand, social networking has a dark side. Since information on individuals are scattered all over the social media, unwanted people can obtain private information on you easily.
