Blog About Twitter

In my opinion, I believe that there's a pretty big difference between a twitter, blackboard, and in-class discussion. Starting off with blackboard discussions, the platform is much more formal than Twitter. Blackboard was mainly set up for educational purposes so discussions and comments posted on blackboard are more informative and are typically longer. Because there's no limit on how much you can write, you can get more of your point across to the audience in comparison to Twitter which only allow 140 characters. Because of this, Twitter requires users to think hard about what they want to say in a short and concise manner which make their messages much more clearer for the audience in comparison to blackboard discussions.

The difference between in-class discussions and Twitter discussions are that is that in-class discussions are verbal. Ideas and opinions can be spread across to whoever is in that class quickly. However, with Twitter, anyone from around the world can join the discussion and there's usually a lot more people contributing. Another main difference is that for twitter discussions, the discussion can go on forever whereas in-class discussions stop once everyone in the room run out of ideas or things to say. Twitter discussions can revive a topic that's very old while in-class discussions cannot do the same to a certain extent. Another main difference is that

  1. Hey Jackie,

I really enjoyed the class Twitter discussion this week. I think 140 characters or less is a good limit because like you said, its makes the message much more clear and concise. I think the great thing about Twitter is that you get input from all over the world, unlike in class or on blackboard where you are limited to only your classmates opinion. Which form of discussions to you prefer? Twitter, blackboard or in class?
